Kenneth Lowell Frei, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 11, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on January 2, 1937, to William Carl Frei and Dora Elzina Cramer Frei. Kenneth attended Sage Creek Grade School, O. E. Bell Jr. High School, graduated from Idaho Falls High School, and attended Ricks College.
He married Barbara “Kay” Wadsworth on October 26, 1956 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. While raising their family with his beloved wife, Kay, Ken was a lifelong farmer and dairyman. He also worked in construction and retired as manager/operator of the LDS Church Farm west of Idaho Falls in Osgood.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ken was a High Priest and served in a Bishopric and as a member of the High Council. He also served several stake missions. His most recent church calling was ward librarian, which he loved. Ken and Kay served missions in the Africa Nigeria Mission, Africa Ghana Mission, Colorado Colorado Springs Mission, Salt Lake City Family History, and he loved serving as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
The focus of Ken’s life was his wife, Kay, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed farming, woodworking and welding. He had a gift for creating and repairing almost anything. He loved serving and associating with Sons of the Utah Pioneers.

Son, David William (Cherise) Frei of Shelley, ID;
Son, Steven Max (Alison) Frei of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter, Carolyn (David) Richins of Joplin, MO;
Son, Daniel Kenneth Frei of Salt Lake City, UT.
He is also survived by
his brothers, Alfred Merlin (Therel) Frei and
Norman Ray Frei, and
Sister, Arlene (Jerry) Cotterell, all of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister, Norma Fay (Earl) Wahlquist of Fredrick, MD;
Sister, Linda JoAnne (Dick) Minty of Calgary, Canada;
Ken and Kay are blessed with 17 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Donald William (Susan) Frei.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS 19th Ward, 3370 North 500 West, with Bishop Greg Baczuk officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, both at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
