Kendall "Kenny" Chaffin

Kendall David Chaffin, 45, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 18, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. His family generously allowed him to be a donor.

Kenny was born April 2, 1972, in Idaho Falls, to Frances Marie Chaffin, who raised him. His father is the late Donald Francis Lively. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Shelley High School. He also attended Idaho State University.

On September 29, 2011, he married Julissa Ivette Browning in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Kenny and Jules made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Kenny worked as a bail bondsman. Kenny enjoyed and lived life to the fullest, enjoying every moment he had with their seven children and one granddaughter.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Boys & Girls Club, and several local organizations, including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He loved the outdoors intensely and enjoyed fishing, hunting, rafting, hiking, traveling, and so much more. He loved his friends and he was always very in tune with their needs, stepping up to help as often as he could. Everyone will remember his joyful nature and exciting personality. Loved by more than we can count.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of six years, Julissa Chaffin, of Idaho Falls, ID; mother, Frances Marie Chaffin, of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Matthew James Chaffin, of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Alexis Mariah Chaffin, of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Penelope Ivette Maloney, of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Maximus Michael Maloney, of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Gabriel Tom Maloney, of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Mersadie Jade Chaffin, of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Pilot Jude Chaffin, of Idaho Falls, ID; granddaughter, Sophia; sister, LeeAnn Chaffin, of Shelley, ID; brother, John Chaffin, of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Garrett Chaffin, of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Guy (Janelle) Chaffin, of Rexburg, ID.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Francis Lively, sister, Wendy Ingelstrom, nephew, Tony "Ray" Mecham, and his grandmother, Florence Beus. The ashes of Kenny's beloved and loyal dog, Duke, will be buried along with him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Idaho Falls South Point LDS Ward, 1291 West 6500 South, with Bishop Scott Cross officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home 273 North Ridge Avenue. There will be no Wednesday visitation. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
