Ken Olsen - 12/16/2002 Ken Olsen - 12/16/2002 KEN OLSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Kenneth “Ken” Olsen, 96, of Idaho Falls, died December 16, 2002, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Idaho Falls of natural causes. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. He was born July 30, 1906, at College Ward, Utah, in the Cache Valley, one of thirteen children born to Alma and Mary Louise Aeschbacher Olsen. He grew up in Cache Valley and attended schools there. He married Louie Ruth Jensen June 20, 1929, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their home in Cache Valley and farmed there until 1948, when they moved to Ucon. Kenneth farmed all his life and was an avid gardener, both vegetable and flower. Louie passed away November 15, 1990. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Sunday School Superintendent, in the High Priest Quorum leadership, and in family history. He was active in the community, also, and served as Chairman of the Farm Bureau of Bonneville County, as a member of the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce, and on the 4-H Planning Committee. Kenneth was active and energetic all his life. He enjoyed sharing his produce and his vast farming knowledge with many and loved taking fishing trips to Alaska. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2002, at the Ucon LDS 3rd Ward, 2967 North 105 East, Ucon, with Bishop Robert Clark of the Ucon LDS 3rd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood East Side Chapel (963 S. Ammon) and for one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church.
