Kelly Richard Walker, 64, of Ammon, passed away January 20, 2017, at his home from a long battle of heart complications. He was born July 8, 1952, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John "Dick" Walker and Zetta Benson Walker. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School. He also attended Idaho State University. Kelly married Debbie Sims and together they had three daughters, Shelby, Jaime, and Kylee. They were later divorced. Kelly worked for HK Contractors for 30 years and TMC Construction for twelve years. When it came to paving asphalt and running equipment, he was an expert. He was also a mentor to many and a perfectionist with all his work. He also ran a successful horse training business with his family. Call it horsemanship or being a horse whisperer, whatever it was, Kelly had it in his blood. Horses were his love and passion. When his health slowed him down, Kelly became a craftsman, making beautiful picture frames, furniture, and birdhouses out of old barn wood. Being kind and giving, Kelly would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Kelly was a great man and will be missed by many. Kelly is survived by his parents, Dick and Zetta Walker of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, Jaime (Trent) Lloyd of Dingle, ID, Kylee Sims of Idaho Falls, ID, and Shelby Walker of Salt Lake City, UT; sister, Shawna Williams of Dubois, ID; nephews, Will Johnson, Jesse Williams, and Dusty Tuckness. He will also be missed by his "puppy," Barkley. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Jim Hansen of the Ammon LDS 27th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Dingle Cemetery in Dingle, Idaho.
