Keith Ray McGary, 56, passed away July 27, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of heart failure.
Keith was born February 17, 1959, to Calvin Lamar McGary and Effie Millie Likes McGary. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Riverside Elementary, O.E. Bell Jr. High, and graduated from Skyline High School.
On April 14, 1984, he married Shauna Marie Harding in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had one daughter, Laisa. Keith worked as a welder and fabricator for Andersen Manufacturing.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keith served as Librarian, Assistant Ward Clerk, Emergency Preparedness Specialist, and Stake Communications Specialist, and helped with Girl’s Camp. Keith was a member of the Bonneville County Jeep Patrol, now known as Search & Rescue, and was a former commander. In his younger years he enjoyed bicycling, motorcycling, and cross country skiing. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, rafting, and getting wood. He was a registered scuba diver.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Shauna McGary of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter, Laisa (Eric) Kelley of Shelley, ID;
Brother, Calvin “George” (Judy) McGary of Pocatello, ID;
Sister, Cora Jean Pack of Astoria, OR;
Sister, Pauline (Robert) Gallup of Rigby, ID;
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at the Ammon LDS 9th Ward, 4459 John Adams Parkway, with Bishop Boyd Southwick officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
