Keith S. Douglass - 03/15/2003 Keith S. Douglass - 03/15/2003 KEITH S. DOUGLASS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Keith S. Douglass, 80, passed away March 12, 2003, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Keith was born January 30, 1923, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Anthony Francis Douglass and Irmadean Southwick Douglass. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1941. During his High School years, Keith was involved with band and fondly remembered those days. He was elected band president his senior year and the school won national honors. Keith began working with his father and brother, S. E. Douglass, in the Douglass Machine & Bearing Company in Idaho Falls, until an opportunity allowed Keith to obtain employment at the U. S. Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. Prior to World War II, Keith was involved re-furnishing and fitting guns on the decks of battleships and destroyers for the Navy. Keith had his first date with the love of his life, Imogene V. Wackerli, on Easter Sunday in 1941. They were married on Easter Sunday, April 23, 1943, in Seattle, Washington. In April, 1944, Keith reported for active duty with the U. S. Navy at the United States Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. After the war ended, Keith concluded his tour of duty and Keith and Imogene returned to Idaho Falls. In 1947 Keith and Imogene along with Imogene's father, Burt Wackerli, founded a farm equipment business, "Tractor Sales and Auto, Inc." The original location was on "Spud Alley" by the railroad tracks in downtown Idaho Falls, where the library now stands. In 1960 a new building was built on North Holmes Avenue. At one time the business grew to include four locations and continues in operation today. Keith was always active in the agricultural community and very much enjoyed those associations through the years. Keith and Imogene were blessed with two children: a daughter, Terrie, and a son, Randall. Through the years the family enjoyed frequent boating outings to Island Park and Palisades. Later on, Keith and Imogene loved to spend time at Palisades in the summer and Arizona for part of the winter. Keith was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also proud of being a longtime member of the Masonic Order and the B.P.O. Elks. In business he was recognized for his integrity, honesty, attention to detail, and busy nature with seemingly unending energy. His commitment to his family's well-being was always his foremost concern. those who have associated with Keith are richer for the experience and truly thankful for his positive influence. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by a daughter, Terrie Douglass Killian, a son, Rand (Cheryl) Douglass, one brother, S. E. Douglass, and a sister-in-law Lueva Wackerli, all of Idaho Falls; five grandsons: Scott (Debbie) Killian of Idaho Falls, Jeff (Laurel) Killian of Salt Lake City, Jason, Jordan and Patrick Douglass of Idaho Falls; also seven great grandchildren, Kurt, Ethan, Cody, Kassi, Kylee, Shania and Mia Killian. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
