“Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality that guarantees all others.”
– One of Keagan’s favorite quotes.
Keagan Kincade Reines passed away at his home in Idaho Falls, ID on January 28th, 2022.
Keagan was born April 1st, 1997 in Idaho Falls, ID to Resa Fern McGuire and Frank Cade Reines.
Keagan split his time between Idaho and California growing up. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He loved swimming in waters nobody else would, he loved to climb mountains, explore new areas and wasn’t afraid of anything to do with the great outdoors. But it was fishing that was his passion, his church, his internal happiness. From the first steps he could make to his last, he was either talking about fishing or out in some primitive area fishing, away from the asphalt jungle. Keagan loved his family, and cherished family gatherings –especially anything to do with food. He loved his food and never wasted a bite. Story telling with family, like sharing the history of his ancestors, or random memories from anybody’s younger days you’d see Keagan not just listening, he was living in those stories and memories. Keagan was a hard worker too, he never complained about the work in front of him, he always just buckled down and worked hard, no matter how hard or long the work was. Keagan was also a natural protector and a great leader, in school he joined a Leader Club where he welcomed new students, showed them around and introduced them to everybody – and everybody new Keagan because he loved everybody and treated them with instant smiles and care. He did not have a selfish bone in him. Keagan was a natural care taker, loved kids. He welcomed his brothers and sisters in this world with open arms and lots of smiles and laughter. The one thing that he would not stand for, is poor treatment of his family, he was like a momma bear that way. And yes, Keagan was a momma’s boy – and he was proud of that. Keagan loved all of his family so very much – he very much disliked when they were hurting, and always wanted to help. If there are any quotes that describe Keagan’s character this one fits him best: “It is not what he has, nor even what he does, which directly expresses the worth of a man, but what he is.”
Keagan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Eugene McGuire; his uncle, Michael Arron McGuire; and great grandmother, Yvonne Marie Spraktes Taylor.
Keagan is survived by his siblings, Lukas Eugene Morgan and his wife Brooke and their daughter Ezmai, Kilee Gayle Simons and her daughter Amara, Ethan Jeremy Simons, Casey Ithiel Reines & Diya Jean Reines.
Keagans is survived by his grandparents, Carolyn Diana McGuire, Casey Joe Reines & Patti Ann Reines.
Keagan is survived by his parents, Resa Fern McGuire & Frank Cade Reines.
Keagan would have wanted us to leave this note with some kind of laughter. But this does not mean, just because you beat us to Heaven, that you now have the reins in your hand. We will see you again, and we all know how to kick your ass.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Watersprings Church, 4250 S. 25th E. in Idaho Falls.
