Mary Kaye Dawn Oliverson Gilgen, 72, of Iona, passed away April 17, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Kaye Dawn was born July 29, 1939, in Preston, Idaho, to James Kelly Oliverson and Hattie Elizabeth Egley Oliverson. She grew up in the area and attended Logan Junior High and South Cache High School.
On February 12, 1959, she married Stanley Andrew Gilgen in the Logan LDS Temple. They moved to Iona, where she has resided the past 49 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.
Kaye Dawn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as a temple worker for several years. Along with many other ward positions, she served a mission at the Bishop’s Storehouse. She enjoyed gardening, painting, genealogy, knitting, crocheting, and was a Utah Jazz fan.

Sister: Ada Marlene (Verl) Terry) of Meridian, ID
Sister: Alania Lee Cook of Idaho Falls, ID
12 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Kelly; and three brothers-in-law, Paul Cook, Alvord “Slim” Cox, and Floyd Israelsen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Iona LDS Stake Center, 7555 North 55th East, with Bishop Byard Cox of the Iona 2nd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
