Kay "Pinky" Spencer Covert

Kay "Pinky" Spencer Covert, 89, of Iona, passed away June 17, 2024, at his home.

Pinky was born November 9, 1934, in Osgood, Idaho, to Delbert Stephen Covert and Alice Theresa Samargis Covert. He grew up and attended schools in Osgood and Idaho Falls, ID.

He served in the United States Army.

On August 23, 1957, he married Sandra Lucille Lund in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Pinky and Sandra made their home in Iona, Idaho, where Pinky worked for Bonneville County.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, wood working, hunting, yard work, and helping others.

Pinky is survived by his son, Scott Covert of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Elise (Alan) Meyer of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Gary (Elnora) Covert of Shelley, ID; brother, Mike (Twila) Covert of California; 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lucille Covert; parents, Delbert and Alice Covert; sister, Naydean Chamber; brothers, Kevin Covert, and Faral Covert; daughter, Corinna Welker; his grandparents; and grandsons, Kevin Clark, and Travis Fullmer Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
