Kay Wesley Prestwich, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 26, 2018, at his daughter Debi’s home, surrounded by his loving family. He was under the care of Alliance Home Health and Hospice. Kay was born March 10,1933, in Lincoln, Idaho, to Merlin and Nina Prestwich. He had three brothers and one sister. Kay married Fern LaRue Carter Walker. They were blessed with three daughters, Linda, Debra and Karen and one son, Brian. Kay and Fern were later divorced. Kay loved his country and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was wounded while serving and received a Purple Heart and Silver Star. Kay was always a very hard worker, he farmed for more than 40 years on the family farm, he also was an architect for more than 50 years. He was the longest performing architect in southeast Idaho with many accolades to his name including, Prestwich Country Estates, fire stations, banks, church work, and many others. Anyone that knew Kay knew of his love for life, music and his wonderful sense of humor. He loved playing his guitar. His cat was his best friend and stayed on his bed next to him while he fought cancer for the last year and a half. Kay was an amazing man and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Edward) Evans of North Bend, WA; daughter, Debra (Mel) Saunders of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Karen Adams of Idaho Falls, ID; sister-in-law, Carol Prestwich of WA; 13 grandchildren and more than 30 great grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by his son, Brian Prestwich, three brothers, Ronald, his twin, Keith, Richard; and his sister, Charla Prestwich. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, at the Iona Cemetery.
