Kay Edwards

Orvid Kay Edwards, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 28, 2023, at his son’s home. He was under the care of OneSource Home Health and Hospice and his loving family.

Kay was born August 31, 1950, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Alvin Edwards and Fonda Lou Campbell Edwards. He attended Lincoln Elementary, Ammon Junior High and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1968.

On October 19, 1968, married Verneta Ann Tinker in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Kay and Verneta made their home in Iona, where Kay worked as a Police Officer for The City of Idaho Falls for 40 years.

Kay was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fly fishing, camping, hunting and fly tying.

Kay is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Verneta Ann Edwards of Idaho Falls, ID; three sons, Alvin K. (Ricki) Edwards of Idaho Falls, ID, Jeff D. (Stephanie) Edwards of Ammon, ID, and Richard T. (Heather) Edwards of Tetonia, ID; three sisters, Connie Edwards of Idaho Falls, ID, Sharon Rudd of Salt Lake City, UT, and Barbara (Larry) Eggett of Riverdale, UT; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2023, at Iona Cemetery, 4962 East 1st Street. The family will visit with friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
