Katie W. Taylor, 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 21, 2015, at The Gardens Senior Living Center in Rigby, Idaho.
Katie was born July 22, 1921, in Shelton, Idaho, to John Howard Wetzel and Ellen Maude Wetzel. She grew up and attended schools in the Rigby area and graduated from Rigby High School.
On September 14, 1940, she married Lester Taylor Jr. in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born two sons, Lindon and Bruce. Katie and Lester lived in Rigby, Lewisville, Victor and later moved to Idaho Falls. She worked at a fabric store in Rigby and at a potato warehouse but took pride in being a homemaker at home.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and enjoyed serving in the Relief Society. Katie loved to sew, dance and cook.
Katie is survived by her son, Bruce (Lynda) Taylor of Tooele, UT;
brother, Jim Wetzel, of Rexburg, ID;
grandchildren, Brandon Olson, Lacey Taylor, Stephanie Carsrud, Austin Mark Long, Shellie Kendrick
and 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, a son, Lindon Lester Taylor, and a granddaughter and a great granddaughter.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 27th, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery, next to her husband.
