Kathy Hansen

Laura Kathryn "Kathy" Hansen, 59, of Teton, Idaho, passed away May 6, 2024, in her sleep.

Kathy was born May 10, 1964, in Ontario, Oregon, to Gene Weatherford and Mary K. Nelson. She grew up with a love for horses.

She moved to Gallup, New Mexico, her senior year and graduated from Gallup High School. She moved back to Rexburg, Idaho, where she lived and raised her children, Dustyn and Ashley. She worked at Artco for 30 years.

Kathy was the life of the party and always put a smile on everyone’s faces. She was a kind-hearted person and a friend to many.

She enjoyed anything outdoors, from huckleberry picking, camping, rock hunting, and floating the river, to arts and crafts. She was an avid reader and always had a book in her hand when at home.

Kathy is survived by her children: son, Dustyn (Natasha) Hansen of Caldwell, ID and daughter, Ashley Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Chuck (Martha) Weatherford of Teton, ID; sister, Christy Hall; and her 3 grandchildren, Darian Tanner, Tatyana Hansen, and Ayralynn Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Hannah Lei Hansen.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
