Kathy Barzee

Kathleen Lynn “Kathy” Barzee, 53, of Idaho Falls, passed away on October 11, 2014, at her home. She was under the care of her family and Hands of Hope Hospice. She was born March 17, 1961, to Maxine Marie Barzee in San Diego, California. She attended grade school in Roberts, Idaho, and Junior High in Salmon, Idaho, where she was a cheerleader and learned to love dance and gymnastics. She lived in Tacoma, WA; Salmon, ID; Berkley, CA; Sparks, NV; Rigby, ID; Lafayette, LA; Roberts, ID; and Idaho Falls, ID. She loved Roberts, and always seemed to return. On August 20, 1984, she married Rick Cress. They were later divorced. She was a mother and homemaker. Kathy was a member of Watersprings Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking, painting, sewing, drawing, picking mushrooms and asparagus, oil painting, and all sorts of crafts. She loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh and enjoyed life to the fullest. Her kids and grandkids were the highlight of each and every day. Survivors are: Son: Austin Cress, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: BreAnna Cress, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Shawn McClure, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Julie Miller, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Sheila Bernier, Ammon, ID Sister: Cindy McClure, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Janean (Mike) Grammer, Pocatello, ID 3 Grandchildren: Samantha, Kaytlynn, and Daniel Arave She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Barzee; her daughter, April Cress Arave; her brother, Michael Young; her brother, Danny Barzee; her cousin, Bridget Ann Barzee; and her grandparents, George and Vera Lake Barzee. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) with Watersprings Church officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Kathleen Barzee Memorial Fund at Wood Funeral Home East Side, PO Box 51434, Idaho Falls, ID 83405.
