Kathryn Johnson

Kathryn Phyllis Louise Cizek “Kit” Johnson, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. Kit was born March 28, 1928, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to George Fred Cizek and Sylvia Arline Mares Cizek. She lived in rural Crete, Nebraska and attended District 22 schools. She graduated from Wilber High School in Wilber, Nebraska and received her nursing degree as an RN from Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing. She married Loren F. Johnson on November 6, 1949 at Grace United Methodist Church in Crete, Nebraska. They were later divorced. She resided in Ogden, Utah; San Bernadino, California; Wichita, Kansas; and Huntsville, Alabama before moving to Idaho Falls in 1968. Kit was a member of the Shiloh Foursquare Church. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, flower gardening, skiing (as a chronic beginner, but loved it!), white water rafting, and baking. She enjoyed yard work and collected hummingbirds, bells, refrigerator magnets and dishes. Her vocation as a nurse also became her avocation. She enjoyed care giving and traveling and was proud to have been in all 50 states, Israel, Canada and Europe. Additionally, Kit served on medical missions in Tibet and Mexico. Kit’s family was very important to her. Survivors include: Son: Howard C. Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Mark S. (Linda) Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID Grandson: Kenneth B. Johnson, Boise, ID Grandson: Tyler F. Johnson, Boise, ID She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Kenneth G. Cizek. Kit’s Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., with Pastor Nate Swisher of Shiloh Foursquare Church, officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wilber Czeck Cemetery, Wilber, Nebraska. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls.

Celebration of Life -- Wednesday

The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wilber Czeck Cemetery, Wilber, Nebraska
