Kathryn Beebe

Kathryn Jane Robertson Beebe, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 24, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born January 14, 1926, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Robert S. Robertson and Gladys V. Leitner Robertson. The family moved to Oregon, where she graduated from Adrian High School. On January 9, 1944, she married Rex Willard Beebe in Ridgeview, Oregon. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1995. Kathryn was a mother, homemaker, and bookkeeper for Beebe's Tool Supply, Van Gas, and her church. Kathryn was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene. At First Church of the Nazarene, she sang in the choir, played piano, taught Sunday School, helped sponsor the youth group, etc. In the community, she participated in Meals On Wheels, Knife and Fork Club, and Red Cross blood drives. During retirement, she and Rex did construction projects throughout the US with team members of the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program. Mom loved sweets and inherited a love for ice cream. Anyone who had the privilege of trying her apple pie will agree it was the best in the West. She enjoyed playing piano, singing, sewing, and knitting, but she was also adventurous and loved riding snowmobiles and motorcycles. Mom and Dad both loved to travel and were blessed to see much of the USA, Europe, Australia, and the Philippines. Surviving are: Daughter: Joanne (Elmer) Bates of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Ron (Lavinia) Beebe of West Columbia, TX Son: Darrel (Sybil) Beebe of Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Dean Robertson of Nampa, ID 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Dorothy Barnes. The family would like to thank the staff at Gables of Ammon for their loving care the past two and a half years. For those who wish to send a memorial, donations can be made to the Beebe Scholarship at Northwest Nazarene University, Mission Aviation Fellowship, or Nazarene World Missions. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the Idaho Falls First Church of the Nazarene, 1900 Grandview Drive, with Pastor Bob Sherwood officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. A lunch will be served at the church afterwards.
