Heavenly Father welcomed Kathleen B. Hansen home on June 4, 2024. Kathleen was 85 and living at the Gables of Ammon Assisted Living when she passed away. She gained an additional family while staying at the Gables with all the loving staff that helped care for her.
Kathleen was born December 18, 1938, in Swan Lake, Idaho, to Daniel B. Barnes and Anna Irene Millard Barnes. She grew up and attended schools in Downey, Idaho, and graduated from Marsh Valley High School.
On September 13, 1957, she married David B. Hansen in the Logan Temple. They were blessed with three children, Daralyn, Gregg, and Kristen. She was a great example of faith and love to her children. Kathleen and David were later divorced.
Kathleen made her home in Idaho Falls until 1977, and then moved to Pocatello, Idaho, until she retired. Kathleen worked as a bookkeeper for a OB/Gyn office in Idaho falls and then for Brent Johnson's dental practice for over 25 years while living in Pocatello.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was highly involved in her faith and served in many callings in the Relief Society. Kathleen was also member of the Daughter's of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed visiting with family, sewing, and quilting. In her later years, she went on several adventures with her good friend, Diana.
Kathleen was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. She made friends where every she went. She earnestly took interest in whatever you had going at the time. She was true example of love and kindness.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Daralyn Moedl of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kristen (Brian) England of Pingree, ID; brother, Gary (Louise) Barnes of Downey, ID; sister, Dana Reese of Bountiful, UT; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Anna Barnes; son, Gregg B. Hansen; and brother-in-law, Patrick Reese.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends and loved ones on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services, both visitations at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
