Kathie Mcintier

Kathie Elder McIntier, 61, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 30, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Kathie was born July 13, 1951, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Chester Elder and Hazel Campbell Elder. She attended Skyline High School, Ricks College, and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Idaho State University. On August 27, 1971, she married Blair Roger McIntier at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Kathie and Blair lived in Ammon, Idaho, where they raised their children, Colleen and Shawn. Kathie worked as a nurse in the emergency room at LDS Hospital and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Kathie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, gardening, photography, and writing. She loved horses and her dogs. Kathie is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Blair; Daughter, Colleen McIntier of Ammon, ID; Son, Shawn (Janae) McIntier of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Lorene Bright Sister, Sherry Roseberry Brother, Steve Elder; and three grandchildren Kiegan, Tristan, and MaKayla. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Ammon LDS 5th Ward, 2055 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Randy Collins officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, and Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Burton Cemetery.
