Biography

Katherine Louise Joyner Vossler, 58, of Idaho Falls, ID passed away September 23, 2011 at her home from natural causes. Kathy was born September 12, 1953 at Mountain Home Air Force Base to William Joyner and Mary Elizabeth Barlow Twitchell. Kathy was raised by her mother and her “adopted” father, James Neal Twitchell, who helped raise her from the age of four years. Kathy grew up in Elgin, Oregon and graduated from Elgin High School in 1971. She thereafter attended Eastern Idaho Technical College. Despite many health issues, Kathy lived life to the fullest and inspired those around her with her optimism. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing things such as shopping, perusing yard sales, playing bingo, and going to coffee. Another hobby she enjoyed was knitting, which helped her reach many milestones. Kathy enjoyed taking care of people and helping everyone to overcome obstacles. Kathy is survived by her daughters, both of Idaho Falls, Tera Rosen and Teri (Antonio) Raya, her stepdaughter Tianne Pierce of Utah, and she was like a mother to many others; her six grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; her father, Neal Twitchell, of Idaho Falls; her brother Danny Schweigert, of Jordan Valley, Oregon; her sisters Linda (Mark)Buckway of Burley, ID; and Maryanne (Phil) Robinson, of Florida; and her longtime companion, Randy Berry of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Twitchell and Ron Vossler. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Calvary Chapel (4250 South 25th East) with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue). The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.).
