Katherine Forman

Katherine Janie Scott Forman, 62, of Idaho Falls, died peacefully in her home August 23, 2013, of natural causes. Kathy was born September 9, 1950, in Walsh, Colorado, to Paul Scott and Reba Lou Copeland Scott. She was married to Jerry Forman on October 26, 1980. Kathy loved nothing more than her family. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her face would light up in pride at the mere mention of their names. Being with those she loved so much is probably why she looked forward with such anticipation to the annual family camping reunions each summer, and why she was so disappointed if anyone was unable to attend. As the matriarch of her large family it was important to Kathy to be surrounded by them as often as possible. Once her kids had grown and moved away to raise their own families, Kathy focused her attention on her new “babies,” her dogs; she spoiled them terribly and loved them dearly. The last couple years of her life she was a dedicated caregiver to her father-in-law and mother-in-law; she was a diligent, loving caregiver to them both right up to their own deaths. In her younger years Kathy enjoyed entering dance competitions with her leading man, Jerry. Together they also enjoyed sharing time in many outdoor activities, including fishing, camping, archery and driving her red sports car. Kathy was an avid card and bingo player; she loved nothing more than to get her family seated around the table for a friendly game of poker, Uno, or Farkle; she rarely lost. Kathy is survived by: her husband, Jerry Forman; five children, Gary Garner of Boise, ID; Michael Garner and Kevin Garner of Rupert, ID; Donna Watson of Nampa, ID; and Brian Forman of Rigby, ID; four brothers, Ronnie Warren of Arkansas; Jimmy Warren of Idaho Falls; Frank Page of Burley, ID; and Shane Page of Salt Lake, UT; two sisters, Judy Manross of Vancouver, WA; and Tina Fletcher of Reno, NV. Kathy leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren that were her pride and joy. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janie Garner; her son, Douglas Garner; and her sister, Fraylene Allen. A Private Memorial for family and close friends will be held to celebrate the life of this loving and kind woman who gave so much of herself and asked for so little in return. She will be missed dearly. Afterglow I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and loving times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done. ~ Author Unknown
