Katherine Ann Christensen

Katherine Ann “Kathy” Christensen, 71, of Rigby, passed away June 23, 2026, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Kathy was born July 31, 1954, in Broken Bow, NE, to Leeland Teahon and AnnMarie Barnes Teahon. She grew up and attended schools in Halsey, NE and graduated from Sand Hills High School.

On August 30, 1974, she married Dewayne Sidney Christensen in North Platte, NE. Kathy and Dewayne made their home in Rigby, Idaho. Together, they had two children Candein and Cad.

She was a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking, sewing, arts and crafts; and being a grandma.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Candein Marie (Frank) Chairez of Sherwood, AR; son, Cad Lee (Janalyn) Christensen of Rigby, ID, brother, Garry (Lisa) Teahon of Gutherie, OK, brother, Larry (Linda) Teahon of Chadron, NE, and brother, Don Teahon of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Anthony, Jordan, Beau, Coby, Devon, Eli, Kyleigh, Kayden, Kasyn, and Kambree; and great-grandchildren, Jackson, Nia, Kayann, Leeland, Kolsyn, Ivory, and Addelyn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne Sidney Christensen; parents, Leeland and AnnMarie Teahon; and brother, Fred Teahon.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in both Rigby, ID and North Platte, NE.
