Click Here To View Memorial Video Kate Margaret Hoffman Hovey, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society - Idaho Falls Village. Kate was born March 8, 1924, in Logan, Utah, to Albert Hoffman and Margaret Cronquist Hoffman. She grew up and attended schools in Benson Ward, Smithfield, and Logan, Utah. On June 20, 1943, she married Paul Leslie Hovey, while Paul was home on furlough from the U.S. Army. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Kate was a stay-at-home Mom who loved to cook, clean, and spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was active in the PTA and volunteered at the election polls. Kate was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully as a Primary Teacher, in Ward and Stake Relief Society Presidencies, as well as other callings. She loved to camp at Granite Hot Springs, Wyoming with family and friends and enjoyed collecting antique dishes and dolls. She was a very gracious lady who was always immaculate in dress and appearance. She is survived by her: Husband of over 70 years: Paul Hovey, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Stephen Paul (Deanna) Hovey, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Alton Kent Hovey, Idaho Falls, ID 6 Grandchildren: Allen, Stephanie (Jesse), James (Angela), Andy, Bill, and Joey and 4 Great Grandchildren: Gracie, Annabelle, Kylie, and Ian. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wayne Lynn Hovey; two sisters and three brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Jeff Clifford officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18th at the Logan City Cemetery in Logan, Utah. The family wishes to thank the staff at Good Samaritan for their kind and loving care.
