Karla Eccher

Karla Eccher, 46, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 28, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Karla was born September 13, 1971, to Carl and Joyce Hoehn in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She became the baby sister to Durke Hoehn and Brian Hoehn. Karla grew up in Idaho Falls and attended A.H. Bush Elementary and Eagle Rock Junior High and obtained her GED at Eastern Idaho Technical College in 1982. As a teenager, Karla ran away from home and joined up with the carnival in the Bay area of California for a summer. She returned to Idaho where she met her first husband, James Eccher. In this union, Jaimee Marie and Alexander Lee were born. They have brought so much joy to Karla throughout the years. James and Karla divorced, but remained good friends and parents to the children. Karla married Richard Wise in Idaho Falls and was blessed to be the stepmother to Charity and Jorden, Richard’s children. In 1998, Karla obtained her Administrative Specialist Degree and became the secretary for the Friendship Club of Idaho Falls for seven years. Her health deteriorated and she was unable to work any longer. Karla was the friend everyone wanted. She would give you her last dollar if you needed it. She was loyal to a fault. Karla enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She made beautiful things that brought joy into peoples lives. Karla was preceded in death her mother, Joyce Leatham Hoehn, paternal grandparents, Phillip and Pearl Hoehn, maternal grandparents, Edwin and Bessie Leatham, brother, Blake Hoehn, and many uncles and aunts. Karla is survived by her father, Carl Hoehn, brothers, Durke Hoehn and Brian Hoehn, children, Jaimee Eccher and Alexander Eccher, and granddaughter, Kjira Alexis. A Gathering will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Inurnment will follow at the Archer-Sutton Cemetery. The family would like to express their thanks to the Hospice of Eastern Idaho, Scott Smith for all of his tender loving care, as well as Pettingill Counseling.
