DAVID HALE
Karl David Hale, 62, formerly of Idaho Falls, passed
away August 15, 2004, in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, after a valiant
and courageous fight the past several years. David was born November 19,
1941, to Karl G. and Georgette Alice “Jetta” Jollineau Hale.
He attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating in 1960 from Idaho Falls
High School. He then attended the University of Idaho and then joined
the armed services. While stationed in Florida, he met and married Micki
(Karen) Shriver. After his time serving, he and Micki moved to California
and were blessed with a daughter, Tania Renee. They later divorced.
David moved with his company to the east coast where
he met and married Joette Randall. They were blessed with two sons, Karl
David, Jr. and Brian R. Hale, and daughter, Tamara J. They later divorced.
David was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, serving in various positions. He was also very involved in the
Boy Scouts of America, earning his Eagle Scout award at age 13, and then
as an adult, serving as a Scoutmaster, Committee Chairman and District
President. In 2001 he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, one of the
highest awards given in Scouting.
David is survived by his children: Tania and husband
Kip (granddaughters Katelyn and Nicole) Mellinger of Newcastle, Washington;
K. David Hale of Beaufort, South Carolina; and Brian Hale and Tamara Hale,
both of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; siblings, Marilyn and Boyd Blair
of Idaho Falls; Karen and Dale Murray of Highland, Utah; Keith and Darlene
Hale of Springville, Utah; Richard and Cheri Hale of Idaho Falls; and
Kregg and Kennan Hale of Provo, Utah. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Karl and Jetta Hale.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 18, 2004,
at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mt.
Pleasant, South Carolina. Brief Memorial Services will be held at 2:00
p.m. Friday, August 20, 2004, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Idaho
Falls. Friends and family may visit an hour prior to the services at Wood
Funeral Home.
Graveside Services and interment, with Military Rites
by the Bonneville County Veterans Team, will be at Fielding Memorial Park
Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho, following the services.
