Karen Ann Taylor, 62, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 2, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Karen was born December 4, 1949, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Harold Laurel Hansen and Alyce Marie Krause Hansen. She grew up in Idaho Falls, where she attended Iona Elementary, Ammon Junior High and graduated from Bonneville High School. She continued her education at Ricks College in the secretarial program. Karen worked at Sears for 15 years and later the Idaho National Laboratory for 17 years as a Senior Technical Specialist. On May 23, 1969, she married David Michael Taylor in Iona, Idaho. Together they raised three children. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Karen enjoyed horses, sewing, camping and four-wheeling. She helped start the Iona Arena Dusters and enjoyed competitions and competed at the state level. Karen’s interests changed from Western pleasure riding and she was learning English Dressage. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Dave Taylor of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter: Cheri Vandermeulen (Brian Tracy) of Las Vegas, NV; Son: Michael Scott (Kristina) Taylor of Rigby, Idaho; Parents: Harold and Alyce Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID; Sisters: Bonnie (Alan) Bloom of Parker, Idaho, and Linda (Darwin) Lees of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and 6 grandchildren She was preceded in death by her son, Steven David Taylor. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday prior to services, both at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery.
