Karen Sue (Staats) Willert

Karen Sue Staats Willert, 58, of Lewisville, passed away September 21, 2021, at her home. Karen was born August 9, 1963, in Loma Linda, California, to Rollin Stanton Staats and Joan Ruth Morgan Staats. She grew up and attended schools in California and Georgia and graduated from Ferndale High School. She also attended Cal State Hayward where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. She went on to earn her Master’s from Western Governor's University. On July 4, 2007, she married Tom Willert in Ferndale, WA. Karen and Tom made their home in Lewisville, Idaho, where Karen worked as a school teacher for Tiebreaker Elementary School. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed motorcycles, music, jet skis, jeeps, gardening, and helping family. Karen is survived by her loving mother, Jo Staats, brothers, Steve Staats, Mark (Linda) Staats, and Dan (Michelle) Staats; sister, Carol (Jim) Taxdahl; stepson, Cortney (Leah) Willert; son-in-law, Chris Davis; granddaughters, Lydia Willert, Trinity Davis, and Destiny Davis; nephew, Zachary Taxdahl, niece, Morgan Taxdahl, and nephew, Cooper Taxdahl and many other loving cousins and family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Willert, daughter-in-law, Tanya Davis, and father, Rollin Stanton Staats. Services will be held at a later. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Calvary Baptist Church.
