Karen Mccowin

Karen Sue Holverson McCowin, 59, of Ammon, passed away September 5, 2014, at her home. Karen was born June 8, 1955, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Dean Preston Holverson and Della Mae Buckland Holverson. She grew up and attended Lincoln Elementary, Ammon Junior High and graduated from Bonneville High School. On October 27, 1998, she married Kenny H. McCowin. Karen and Kenny made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Karen had worked for Reed Drug in Rigby, for the Idaho Falls Police Department, and at the Bonneville County Courthouse. She loved spending time with her husband, children, and her granddaughters. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Kenny McCowin of Ammon; son, Michael (Amy) Kelsey of Iona; father, Dean Holverson of Idaho Falls; brother, Cary (Jill) Holverson; sister, Julie Holverson; 2 granddaughters, Meagan and Ashlyn, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Della Mae Holverson. Graveside services will be held at noon, Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the Ammon Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 11-11:45 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, prior to services at the cemetery.
