Karen Kae Thueson Davenport, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at her home from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Karen was born December 16, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ford W. Thueson and Elizabeth “Betty” Kinghorn Thueson. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1962.
On December 21, 1962, she married LaRell J. Davenport in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together they raised four children, Merilee, Jon, David, and Holly. Karen and LaRell made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Karen worked as a secretary for Naval Reactor Facility at the INL and later for Rocky Mountain Claim Service.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed needle work and ballroom dancing with LaRell. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her husband of 55 years, LaRell Davenport of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Merilee LaPier of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jon Davenport of Idaho Falls, ID; son, David (Katie) Davenport of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Holly (Brandon) Baldwin of Layton, UT; brother, Dennis (LaDean) Thueson of Woods Cross, UT; brother, Doug (Donna) Thueson of Shelley, ID; brother, Brad (Shannon) Thueson of Kaysville, UT; brother, Kevin (Marci) Thueson of Bountiful, UT; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ford and Betty Thueson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Idaho Falls LDS Brentwood Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive, with Bishop Grant Stone officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20th at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
