Karen Carlson

KAREN CARLSON IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Karen Jo Carlson, 60, of Idaho Falls, died February 28, 2007, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born August 16, 1946, at Nampa, Idaho, to Calvert LaGrand Carlson and Rosamond Bullock Carlson. Born prematurely and just 3 lbs. 3 oz. at birth, Karen was born without a hip, but you couldn't slow her down. Because of several disabilities, Karen was placed in the Nampa State School at the age of 4. In 1992 she was able to move into a home care situation with Darlene and Gilbert Murdoch family in Idaho Falls. She attended the Joshua Smith Foundation and later was involved in a program called Options. Karen loved going to school, attending Special Needs Primary, swimming, beads, purses, beautiful shoes, and blocks. Survivors include: Caregiver: Gilbert Murdoch, Idaho Falls, ID She was preceded in death by another caregiver, Darlene Murdoch. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Fielding Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, before proceeding to the cemetery.
