Karen Borchard - 11/19/2002 Karen Borchard - 11/19/2002 KAREN F. BORCHARD IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Karen Francis Pope Borchard, 66, of Idaho Falls, died November 18, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of a heart attack. She was born February 14, 1936, at Randolph, Utah, to Wilber Pope and Esther Thornock Pope. When she was young the family moved to Cokeville, Wyoming, and she grew up and attended schools there. She married George Walter Thornock and they were later divorced. She married Ron Borchard and they were later divorced. She was a homemaker and mother and worked in the laundry and kitchen at Good Samaritan Nursing Center for many years. She retired there as a cook in 1996. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, and being outdoors with her family. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends on Thursday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
