J. LLOYD MUNK
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- J. Lloyd Munk, 92, of Idaho Falls,
died May 13, 2004 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home of causes incident to
age.
Lloyd was born September 20, 1911 to Junius Christian
Munk and Caroline Annie Munk in Manti, Utah. He married Frances Lyon Chapman
in Malad, Idaho on June 10, 1933.
He was self-employed for twenty-four years as a farmer
and rancher in Utah and Idaho. Later he went to work for the City of Idaho
Falls as an electrical dispatcher.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. He enjoyed traveling to sites of historical significance. He had
an intuitive understanding of nature and was an avid outdoorsman with
a great love of fishing and camping. He planted sapling trees on the Idaho
Falls Greenbelt before it was known as the Greenbelt. Lloyd was a dedicated
husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his two daughters; Marylin M. Sorensen
and Carole Anne Pruett of Idaho Falls, Idaho; grandchildren, Van McFadden,
Allyn Schreiber, Cherie Herrick, Melanie Anne Pruett and Jerald (Jerry)
Lloyd Munk; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kayli, Sean, Jaden, Max,
Alex, and Hollie Ann. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son,
Paul Lloyd Munk; three brothers and a sister; and two grandchildren; Tammy
and Kimberly.
The immediate family will meet at the Buchanan Mortuary
in Manti, Utah, from 11-11:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004, to pay their
final respects to Lloyd prior to graveside services which will be held
at 12 noon in the Manti Utah City Cemetery. Local arrangements are under
the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
