JUNE MONSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- June Humpherys Monson, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 19, 2008, due to complications from Alzheimers.
She was born June 12, 1929, in Paris, Idaho, to John Henry Humpherys and Maud Sophia Lindsay. She attended and graduated from school in Paris, Idaho. This is where she met her lifetime partner of 59 years, Niles Thomas Monson, whom she recently lost on August 6, 2008. They were married August 25, 1949, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
She lived most of her life in Rexburg, moving to Idaho Falls in 2001. Although she was ill we know she loved the many visits of her loving friends, neighbors and ward members. We will always be grateful for the love and concern her caretaker, Alice Hill, gave during the last several years of her life.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day- Saints, where she held various callings in the Relief Society, Primary, Young Women's program and librarian. She so loved the time she spent with her husband serving a mission with the Genealogy
Center. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother to 22
grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Through her life she was
an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, being outdoors and cooking.
She loved animals, especially the family dogs. Her family will hold dear many fond memories of the numerous camping and hiking trips taken together. We will miss her wonderful pumpkin pies and homemade candy at the holidays.
Survivors include her children, Judy (Dan) Peterson of Fruita, Colo., Peggy (Robert) Beck of San Antonio, Texas Laurie (Jay) Phillips of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Lisa (Alan) Siddoway of Teton, Idaho; and one brother Bernarr Humpherys of Escondido, California. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Virola Collins, and a brother, Lowell Humpherys.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery.

Dear Girls, I am sorry for the loss of your Mother, she was a good neighbor. It was always good to visit with her as we did often while she was doing her cards. May the Lord bless you. It is wonderful to know your parents were not without one another for long, how happy they are now.
