June Loughridge

Biography

June Loughridge passed from this mortal life Thursday January 31st from natural causes. She had 5 boys, 2 daughters and numerous grand and great grand children. She loved music and spent many years directing choirs and congregations, and singing the songs of her faith. For a short time she pursued a singing career, but raising a family was more important at the time. She often said that God gave her the opportunity to raise a family and in that, she felt truly blessed. She had a fierce testimony that she shared at every opportunity. She was generous to a fault: gifts given for her birthday or Christmas were often given away to those who didn't have. A tape recorder for her to listen to tapes ended up in the hands of the missionaries, food given to her for storage ended up being spread around to others nearby who didn't have as much as she did. She would literally give her last few dollars to buy a birthday gift and go without food for a few days until she got her check, just to make someone happy. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Norman and Vella Laird, her daughter Angie and is survived by her 5 sons, Craig, Norman, Scott, Doug and David, and her daughter Shelley, who had 21 kids between them and so many great grandchildren that she was often heard to say that she had lost count of all of them. She is also survived by her sister Vicki and her brothers Ron and Steve. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery. At her request, no viewing will be held.
