JUNE HARRIS IDAHO FALLS, ID -- June Panting Harris, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 23, 2006, at her home of cancer. She was under the care of Hospice Alliance. She was born July 29, 1917, in Soda Springs, Idaho, to Russell Milton Panting and Lettie Thirkill Panting. She grew up and attended schools in Soda Springs, graduating from Soda Springs High School. She graduated from Excelsis Beauty School in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also lived briefly in Mound Valley, Grace, Lewisville, Coltman, Victor, and Kimberly, Idaho, and Afton, Wyoming. She married George Alexander Harris May 23, 1941, in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized October 14, 1967, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They moved to Idaho Falls 51 years ago. She was a homemaker and mother and also worked as a beautician and as a bookkeeper for C.C. Anderson (The Bon) and School District 91, from which she retired. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a librarian for over 20 years. She was an active Red Cross blood donor for many years, was an election worker for many years, and was a volunteer at Riverview Hospital and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed her family, camping, fishing, her yard and garden, and aerobics. Survivors include: Husband: George Alexander Harris, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Sharon H. (Edward) Laird, Rigby, ID Son: Brent G. (Paula) Harris, Rexburg, ID Brother: Blaine (Margaret) Panting, Soda Springs, ID Sister: Virginia (Floyd) Jones, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Mearl (Doug) Ashbaker, Preston, ID and 7 Grandchildren & 2 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jeff Harris, a grandson, Stacey Laird, two brothers, and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006, at the Idaho Falls LDS Parkwood Ward, 395 – 2nd Street, with Bishop David Burger officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Services, 50 East North Temple Street, Floor 7, Salt Lake City, UT 84150-6890.
