Julie Ellen Vander Stoep, 52, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 27, 2026, at her home, peacefully surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
Julie was born September 2, 1973, in Los Gatos, California, to Larry James Mrkvicka and Elizabeth Lea Fuller Mrkvicka. She grew up and attended schools in Northern California and graduated from Cloverdale High School.
On January 4, 1992, she married Ken Vander Stoep in Oakland, California. Julie and Ken then moved to Arizona where Ken attended college and then they went overseas to China and Taiwan for Ken’s work. In 2002, they moved back to California where they stayed until 2008 when they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a very adventurous spirit. She enjoyed running, camping, hiking, basketball, pickle ball, and softball. She was very service-oriented and loved doing yard work. She loved animals and took care of many of them, ranging from dogs and cats to chickens and ducks. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her favorite thing of all was raising her children, Kiana, Jenaya, Easton, and Bryce.
Julie is survived by her husband, Ken Vander Stoep of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kiana Vander Stoep; daughter, Jenaya Vander Stoep; son, Easton Vander Stoep; son, Bryce Vander Stoep; father, Larry (Linda) Mrkvicka; brother, Zach (Andrea) Mrkvicka; sister, Lisa (Jason) Gardner; and brother, Mike (Michelle) Medeiros.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Lea Fuller.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the New Sweden Ward, 7940 North 35th West, Osgood, Idaho, with Bishop Derek Reed officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
