Julie Ann Johnson-Butikofer, 62, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 4, 2021, at her home.
Julie was born June 30, 1959, in Toledo, OH, to James Donald Johnson and Marlene Ann Stevens Johnson. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. She also attended Vogue Beauty School and nursing school.
On August 28, 1980, married Kevin Mark Butikofer in Idaho Falls, ID. Julie and Kevin made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was a member of the Catholic Church. Julie was very creative and quick witted, with a very infectious laugh. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed talking about religion. Julie had a heart full of love and compassion for animals, especially dogs and cats. She would often rescue animals and care for them in her home.
Julie is survived by her daughters, Angela (Matthew) Butikofer of Alpine, WY, and Jamie Ann (Jason) Hagen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jakob (Crystyna) Butikofer of Idaho Falls, ID; parents, James and Marlene Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, James (Susie) Johnson of OR; and 12 grandchildren, PK, Myca, Adri, Elly, Kevin, Baby Girl B., Wayne, Kaylene, Anakela, Leilani, Conner, and Kalina.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Kevin Mark Butikofer, they are finally together again; and her twin sister, Jeannie, and brothers, Matthew and John.
Services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, August 21st at the Grant Cemetery with a Celebration of Life at 2 pm Saturday, August 21 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints (651 Gladstone) .
