Julie Lavon Hobbs Hatch, 48, of Idaho Falls, our dearly beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away December 10, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, after a valiant ten-year fight against cancer. Julie was born April 23, 1969, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Billie Lee Hobbs and Joy Adrene Felsted-Cottrell Hobbs. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School, where she loved being involved as a cheerleader. She also attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University-Provo. On August 19, 1988, she married Bradford Nelson Hatch in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born seven children, Jordan, Kendall, Jonathan, Heidi, Nathaniel, Christopher, and Noah. Julie and Brad raised their family in Washington, D.C., Texas, Alaska, and settled in Idaho Falls fourteen years ago. Julie was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She spent countless hours reading out loud to her children. Teaching them to live virtuous lives with devotion to God was her greatest purpose. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Julie served in various capacities over the years. She loved playing the piano, road trips, hiking, the ocean and beaches, the mountains, forests, and Yellowstone National Park. She enjoyed cross stitching, watercolor painting, growing flowers, and baking pies. Julie is survived by her loving husband of nearly 30 years, Bradford Hatch of Idaho Falls, ID, her mother, Joy Adrene Hobbs of Idaho Falls, ID, and her children, Jordan Hatch of Kirksville, MO, Kendall (Hannah) Hatch of Murray, UT, Jonathan (Emily) Hatch of Provo, UT, Heidi Hatch of Provo, UT, Nathaniel Hatch of Idaho Falls, ID, Christopher Hatch of Idaho Falls, ID, and Noah Hatch of Idaho Falls, ID, three brothers, Dan (Tammy) Hobbs of Pocatello, ID, Steve (Linda) Hobbs of Idaho Falls, ID, and Mike (Celestine) Hobbs of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Hobbs, and a sister, Connie Hobbs. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Idaho Falls LDS Taylor Mountain Stake Center, 260 Castlerock Lane, with Bishop Scott Cook of the Taylor View Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
