JULIA RIPPLINGER
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Julia Ethea Johnson Ripplinger, 86, of Idaho Falls, died December 12, 2006 at Riverview Assisted Living under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
She was born August 10, 1920, at Hibbard, Idaho, to John Robert Johnson and Elva Ethea Mock Johnson. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Rexburg High School. She continued her education at Ricks College.
On April 4, 1940, she married Carl Raymond Ripplinger in Rigby. They made their home and raised their family in Teton Valley. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 17, 1951.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in numerous positions including Relief Society President, Primary President, and as a temple worker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, and handiwork. Julia especially loved spending time with her family and was a devoted homemaker.

Son: Brent (Sandy) Ripplinger, Chester, ID
Daughter: Darlene (Edwin) Wood, Driggs, ID
Daughter: Christine (Kent) Meikle, Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: Perry Johnson
Brother: Steve Johnson
17 Grandchildren, 44 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, LaRell Ripplinger; and a great granddaughter, Alaina Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2006, at the Driggs LDS Stake Center, 221 North 1st East, with Bishop Kerry Buxton officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services, both at the church.
Burial will be in the Bates Cemetery in Driggs under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

I'm so sorry to hear of Brent's mom's passing, I'm sure she was a wonderful person. She is in special hands now and God will take good care of her. (I'm Merlin Roberts' daughter.) God bless you both always.
