Julia Constance Hoggan Loveland, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 21, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Heritage Hospice and her loving family.
Julia was born to Robert Morn Hoggan and Blanche Matkin Hoggan on August 31, 1949, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She attended many different schools in Idaho Falls because her parents moved often. She graduated from Skyline High School in 1968. She went on and graduated from Ricks College in 1970.
She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission in Hawaii, served as Young Women President, served in various Primary callings, and many other callings. Upon returning from her mission, she attended Idaho State University, where she met her eternal companion, Gordon Joel Loveland. They were married in the Logan Temple on February 9, 1973. They have five beautiful daughters, Susan, Stacey, Jackie, Heidi, and Lori.
Julia enjoyed camping with immediate family and extended family. She enjoyed cross stitching, other handwork, and working in her yard. She also taught preschool in her home.
Julia is survived by her husband, Gordon Loveland of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Susan Elizabeth (John) Brewer of Ucon, ID; daughter, Stacey Marie (Derrick) Burke of Lapoint, UT; daughter, Jackie Lynn (Jason) McNeill of South Jordan, UT; daughter, Heidi Jo (Travis) Thornton of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Lori Kay (Christopher) O’Connor of Idaho Falls, ID; and 23 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Bruce Hoggan; brother, Jerry Matkin Hoggan; two stillborn babies, Gordon Scott and Patricia Ann Loveland; and three stillborn grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Thunder Ridge 1st Ward, 4459 John Adams, with Bishop Kelly Ottley officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
