Julia Gay Baker, 50, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 7, 2015, at her home of complications of diabetes.
Julia was born October 4, 1964, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Fred David Baker and Millicent Ann “Millie” Pope Baker. She grew up in Idaho Falls and attended local schools, including Idaho Falls High School. After high school she moved to Kent, Washington. She also lived in Cloverdale, California, for ten years, where her daughter, Kayla, was born, then moved to Rigby, Idaho, for twelve years, and then moved to Idaho Falls.
A homemaker and mother, Julia also worked as a dialysis technician in Washington. Her daughter was the light of her life, and her grandson, Brayden, turned on the sun in her eyes.
Julia was a very social person and loved meeting new people and hearing their stories. She loved cooking, making candy, attending rock and roll concerts, riding roller coasters, and playing pranks. She enjoyed talking on the phone, watching crime TV, and generally having fun and enjoying life with her friends and family.

mother, Millie Bonfield of Liberty, MO,
brother, Shawn (Chris) Baker of Bellevue, NE,
sister, Susie (Nathan) Perry of Murietta, CA
sister, Mindy Baker of Saint Anthony, ID,
a grandson, Brayden Walton;
stepmother, Colleen Baker, and her two children,
many cousins, nieces and nephews; and her best friends of nearly thirty years, LeAnn & Jay Bohney, and their children, Braxton and Breanna.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred David Baker, her grandparents, and a brother, Michael Baker.
A Gathering for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. At her request, no formal services will be held. It was her wish to have her body donated for research to the University of Utah Medical School.
