Click Here To View Memorial Video Judy K. Maxfield, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Born March 20, 1945, in Murray, Utah, to Curtis Wayne Maxfield and Frances Anne Kite Maxfield, she was the youngest of three daughters. Her family moved to Ucon, Idaho, in August, 1952. She attended grade school and Junior High in Ucon and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1963 with honors. While in high school she was a cheerleader for three years and involved in Pep Club. Judy attended LDS Church College in Laie, Hawaii, which is now known as BYU-Hawaii. She then attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, majoring in Home Economics. She started her mortgage banking career in Idaho Falls with Utah Mortgage Loan in 1967, working for them for twenty four years. She then worked for Crossland Mortgage, Bank of Idaho for fourteen years, and Charter Mortgage, from which she retired in 2010. Judy graduated from The School of Mortgage Banking at Northwestern University in Chicago. A very honest and knowledgeable mortgage loan officer, she took pride in her work and loved helping people secure home loans. Judy was awarded the Affiliate of the Year by the Greater Idaho Falls Board of Realtors twice. She was also chosen twice as Associate of the Year by the Idaho Falls Home Builders Association. Judy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She taught primary for many years and also served in the Young Women. Judy loved flowers and especially loved sending flowers to people, looking for the perfect gift for others, and spending time at the cabin at Henry’s Lake. She also loved working on her class reunions for the Bonneville Class of '63. Her motto for life was "Kindness Matters." The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Brady Cook and the 5th Floor nursing staff at EIRMC for their kindness and compassion. Survivors include her sisters, Connie (Larry) Carlson of Idaho Falls; Carol (Rodger) Jensen of Idaho Falls; adopted sister, Marsha Shaffer of Idaho Falls; half-brother, Lynn (Colleen) Maxfield of Layton, UT, and a sister-in-law, Lilly Maxfield of Idaho Falls. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a half-sister, Afton Lifferth, and a half-brother, Don Maxfield. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, Idaho Falls, with Rodger Jensen conducting. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, both at Wood East Side. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Judy’s name to The Haven Temporary Shelter, 2480 South Yellowstone, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.
