Judy Mae (Colberg) Deroche

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Mae DeRoche, 82, of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Judy passed away peacefully June 4, 2025, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

Judy was born February 25, 1943, in Oak Park, Illinois, to William Olaf Colberg and Mae (Panzer) Colberg. She grew up and attended schools in Maywood, Illinois, graduated from Proviso East High School, and married Dean Robert Trenkler.

Judy later married Mark DeRoche, and they made their home in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. Judy worked hard as a single mother and secured the position of talk show host of "Take 3" for KID TV for several years. She was the program director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Idaho, where she made a difference in many children's lives before she eventually retired.

She was a member of New Day Lutheran Church. Her favorite hobbies were skiing, reading, shopping, talking politics, and spending time with family and friends.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Christine (Darwin) Hendricks of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Daniel (Sylvia) Trenkler of Bartlett, IL; 4 grandchildren, Jordan Russell, Danny Trenkler, Chloe Trenkler, and Aiden Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mae Colberg; brother, Bill Colberg Jr.; first husband and son's father, Dean Trenkler.

A celebration of life will be held 11 :00 a.m. July 5, 2025, at St Luke's Episcopal Church, 270 N. Placer Ave, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Idaho.
