Juanita Payne, 92, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away April 10, 2016, at Sage Grove Assisted Living in Rigby, Idaho. Juanita was born April 22, 1923, in Hampshire, Tennessee, to Ernest Cowder Scott and Minnie Maybell Blocker Scott. She grew up and attended schools in Hampshire, Tennessee; graduated from Hampshire High School; and moved to Columbia, Tennessee. On December 23, 1945, she married Henry Walker Payne in Athens, Alabama. To this union were born three children, Teresa, Scott Lynn, and Cam. Juanita and Walker made their home in Columbia, Tennessee. They moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, in July 2011. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed genealogy, sewing, and quilting. She held many callings in the church and served with her husband as directors of the Family History Center in Columbia, Tennessee. Juanita is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Melvin) Stone of Rigby, ID; son, Scott Lynn Payne of Murfreesboro, TN; son, Cam J. (Angie) Payne of Ammon, ID; sister, Ruth Olsen of Cardston, Alberta; 10 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Payne; parents, Crowder and Maybell Scott; sister, Era Scott; and grandson, Christopher Payne. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Cam J. Payne officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
