Juanita "Nita" Hayes

NITA HAYES IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Juanita Joan “Nita” Hayes, 78, of Idaho Falls, died January 31, 2006, in her home of natural causes. Her family was with her. Nita was born May 23, 1927, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Orie W. Doan and Golda Wright Doan. She grew up and attended schools in Indianapolis, and it was there that she met and married Charles Hillary Hayes. They have two children, Bill and Nancy; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Christine; and one great-grand-child, Hannah. Nita was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker. When she was younger, she did volunteer work at the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Nita enjoyed decorating her home and took pride in its beauty. She grew beautiful roses, and she collected Capodimonte flowers. She enjoyed family get-togethers and meeting her friends, and had a talent for making everyone feel welcome in her home. Her favorite vacation spot was Seaside, Oregon, where she and her family created many wonderful memories. She liked children and had an affinity for them. She also enjoyed reading mysteries and watching the older situation comedies, such as “Bewitched” and “The Andy Griffith Show” on TV. Recently, she enjoyed watching the Food Channel and the Home and Garden channel. She was well-loved and will be missed. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Kaye Hayes; a daughter, Nancy Hayes; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Scott Twitchell and Christine and Rodger Chase; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Twitchell, all of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gordon and Robert Doan, and her husband, Charlie. Memorial Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 272 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Saturday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
