Joyce Waggoner

Joyce L. Hansen Waggoner, 77, longtime resident of Idaho Falls, passed away January 14, 2011 at her home of congestive heart failure. Joyce was born July 2, 1933 in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Martel Leslie Hansen and Mae Belle Henderson Hansen. She grew up in Tetonia, attended Tetonia Grade School and graduated from Teton Valley High School. Joyce married Carl Mack Waggoner on September 9, 1956 in Tetonia, Idaho. They made their home in Idaho Falls where they raised their two daughters and two sons. Joyce worked for many years as a clerk in the catalog department at Sears. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several positions. She enjoyed family camp outs, playing cards and checkers, collecting all things roosters, reading, quilting and especially visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: Husband: Carl M. Waggoner, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Lora Mae Longhurst (Jeanette Holden), Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Faye (Brent) Olsen, Idaho Falls, ID Son: C. Phillip (Rinda) Waggoner, Shelley, ID Sister: Colleen C. Hammond, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Sherry Mae (Charles) Scoresby, Iona, ID Sister: Linda Ellen Lewis, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Stephen John (Linda) Hansen, Tetonia, ID Sister: Lyla (Darrel) Howell, Rigby, ID 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leslie Charles Hansen; sisters, Myrna Belle Fredrickson, Karen V. Martin, Teresa M. Hansen; and her son, Walter Wayne Waggoner. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Idaho Falls LDS 14th Ward, 651 Gladstone, with Bishop Dean Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia.

Tuesday January 18, 2011 , 11:00 a.m. at Idaho Falls LDS 14th Ward

The family will visit with friends on Monday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at Cache-Clawson Cemetery in Tetonia.
