Joyce Plocher

Donna Joyce Plocher, 83, of Palisades, Idaho, passed away August 27, 2018, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho. Joyce was born April 30, 1935, in Malta, Idaho, to Jess Kimble McBride and Evva Shaw McBride. She grew up and attended schools in the area and graduated from Burley High School. She also attended Beautician School at Idaho State College in Pocatello, Idaho. On November 30, 1956, she married Raymond W. Plocher in Burley, Idaho. Joyce and Raymond later moved to Palisades. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and also worked as a beautician and a teacher’s aid. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in several auxiliary organizations. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, cooking, and baking. She also enjoyed playing card games, walking with friends, having fun and laughing. She especially loved her family and spending time with them. Joyce is survived by her husband, Raymond W. Plocher of Palisades, ID; daughter, Lari (Alan) Nelson of Burley, ID; son, Raymond Chad (Marlene) Plocher of Plano, ID; son, Edward Todd (Rachel) Plocher of Felt, ID; daughter, Paula (Craig) Smith of Rigby, ID; daughter, Krista (Kurt) Degraw of Highlands Ranch, CO; sister, Dody Thurston of Rupert, ID; 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Emma Luana Baird and Ramona Artella Hofer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2018, at the Palisade Ward (3109 Swan Valley Hwy) with Bishop Terry Hulse officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon Road) and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Swan Valley Cemetery.
