Margaret Joyce Junk, 66, of Idaho Falls passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at EIRMC of natural causes.
Joyce was born April 25, 1944 in Denver, CO to Joseph Peter and Marjorie George Junk. She grew up in the Idaho Falls area and graduated from St. Gertrudes Academy in Cottonwood, Idaho.
After graduating from high school, Joyce had the opportunity to reside in several states before coming back to Idaho in 1970. In 1986 she moved to the Firth-Blackfoot area where she lived until moving to Idaho Falls in 1996.
On March 22, 1969, Joyce married Darwin 'Jay' Lawrence in Las Vegas, NV. Together they had two children, Kristi and David. They later divorced.
Due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis, after working for RT French, Co. and Pillsbury for over 20 years, Joyce was able to take an early retirement.
Joyce's two children gave her four beautiful grandchildren that were the light of her life: Zachari and Jordyn Rogers, Brooklynn and Taylor Byington.
Joyce had a love for animals and thought of her dogs as just one more of her 'kids'. She enjoyed reading, watching animal planet, crocheting and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was affectionately called 'mom' by several of her children's friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Marjorie, her brother, Jerry, and her twin sister, Jean.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kristi Rogers of Idaho Falls, and a son, David (Stacy) Byington of Rigby. Grandchildren, Zachari and Jordyn Rogers, and Brooklynn and Taylor Byington. Best friend, Glenna Waters, and dog, Cassie.
A memorial will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at David and Stacy Byington's residence, 430 West 2nd North, Rigby.
