Joyce Ford

Joyce Dana Ford, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 31, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Joyce was born July 15, 1935, in Grover, Wyoming, to Howard Dana and Fonda Jensen Dana. She grew up in Star Valley and graduated from Star Valley High School. She married Lewis Emery Ford December 5, 1953, in Thayne, Wyoming. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on July 22, 1960. Lewis died on September 10, 2001. Joyce was a mother and a homemaker. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as the Ward and Stake sports director, Ward librarian, and as a primary teacher. She loved horses, crocheting, reading, and gardening. Joyce especially loved being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce is survived by Son, Brad (Cheryl) Ford of Soda Springs, ID; Daughter, Kris (Clayton) Adams of Bellevue, ID; Son, Rodger (Carrie) Ford of Ammon, ID; Son, Blake (Norma) Ford of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Carol (Ken) Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Anna (Ron) Erickson of Thayne, WY; Sister, Joan (Dirk) Jensen of Grover, WY; 16 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lewis, a brother, Frank, a sister, Jeanine, and a grandson, William Adams. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS Coltman 2nd Ward, 12448 North 5th West, with Bishop Dennis Love officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, January 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Wednesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Star Valley Wyoming LDS Temple. Burial will be in the Thayne Cemetery in Thayne, Wyoming.
