Joyce Elaine Nelson Cleverley, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away on May 6, 2014, at her home of natural causes.
She was born May 9, 1930, in Shelley, Idaho to Viggo Johannes Nelson and Elda Luella Hult Nelson. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Shelley High School.
On December 17, 1951, she married Richard Merlin Cleverley in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on November 21, 1953. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and also worked in the cafeteria at Idaho Falls High School from 1978 until 1997, when she retired.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, camping, fishing, and working in her raspberry bushes. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Daughter: Julie Ann (Roger) Haroldsen, Rigby, Idaho
Son: Matthew Rick (Melissa) Cleverley, North Bend, Washington
Brother: Daniel J. (Jackie) Nelson
Sister: Linda LaRae (Gaylon) Beck
17 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Dennis Cleverley; her parents; a brother, David; and two sisters, Colleen and Sharon.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6-7:30 p.m. and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services, both at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
