Joyce Burt

Betty “Joyce” Bailey Burt, 86, of Ririe, passed away April 3, 2012, at her home. She was born December 31, 1925, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Earl Fredrick Bailey and Alice Ann Seedall Bailey. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Ucon High School. On June 9, 1944, she married Walter Curtis Burt, Jr. in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2004. Joyce was a devoted mother and homemaker and also worked as a City Clerk in Ririe. She volunteered her time as an election worker at the polls and was active with the Jefferson County Fair. Joyce was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening; being outside; and loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Survivors are: Son: Paul Burt of Salt Lake City, UT Daughter: Leah Burt of Ririe, ID Son: Walter James (Barbe) Burt of Las Vegas, NV Daughter: Malinda Burt of UT Daughter: Teresa (Garth) Barrow of Rigby, ID Daughter-in-law: Sharon Burt 23 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Joseph Burt; a daughter, Bonnie Olson; two brothers, Jay Bailey and Earl Bailey Jr.; grandson, David Walker; and daughter-in-law, Paulette Burt. Private family services will be held.
